In Germany, Jan Oetjen is considered one of the most distinguished managers in the digital economy. As CEO of 1&1 Mail & Media Applications SE, he is responsible for the entire portal business of the 1&1 Group, including media marketing and the dialogue business. In parallel, he is Managing Director of the parent company United Internet Media GmbH. Before joining the group in 2008, he was Managing Director of the Travelocity Group, responsible for the online travel provider’s activities in Germany and France. As one of the leading experts in the field of digital policy, he advocates for international equal opportunity with regard to digital infrastructure and a globally uniform legal framework.

The board of the European netID Foundation is made up of representatives of the three founding members RTL Deutschland, ProSiebenSat.1 Media and United Internet – supplemented by Telekom Deutschland and independent experts. In addition to Jan Oetjen, the members of the board of the European netID Foundation include Prof. Dr. Friedbert Pflüger, Karin Immenroth (RTL Germany), Maximilian Klopsch (ProSiebenSat.1 Media) and Nils Stamm (Telekom Germany).
