The European netID Foundation has a new chairman on the Board of Trustees: Karin Immenroth, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland. The data expert succeeds Jan Oetjen, CEO of 1&1 Mail & Media Applications SE who, after two years in the position, cannot be re-elected according to the articles of association, and now takes over the position of deputy chairman of the board.
Immenroth is one of the most renowned leaders in the field of research, data & analytics in Germany. As Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, she has been responsible for data strategy, analysis and data science as well as audience and market research since October 2019. Further professional experience was gained at Wavemaker, Burda Forward Advertising and Mediaplus.
“In order to guarantee our neutrality and independence, we regularly rotate the chairmanship of the board of the European netID Foundation. After two very successful years under Jan Oetjen, Karin Immenroth, an expert for data strategy and analysis, is now taking over the leadership of the foundation board. With her many years of experience in the media and advertising market, she will provide us with significant support in further developing our current strategy as well as our products and services. We are very pleased to welcome her as chairman of the foundation Board of Trustees”, says Sven Bornemann, CEO of the European netID Foundation.
“People in Europe need a secure solution for handling their digital identity, so our goal must be to offer a European alternative to registration that meets the need for security and transparency. I am very much looking forward to working as chairman and continuing to do all I can towards the further development of this solution,”adds Karin Immenroth, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland.
