Sven Bornemann, CEO of the European netID Foundation (EnID), will leave the company at his own request at the end of July. His successor will be Jörn Strehlau, previously Managing Director at the media network GroupM.
Bornemann, previously Managing Director of AGOF Services GmbH, has been responsible for the development as well as the strategic and operational business of the European netID Foundation since its operational start in August 2018. During this time, he succeeded in establishing the single sign-on netID as the leading login standard and positioning the consent product netID Professional equally with advertisers, e-commerce providers and publishers as an alternative to third-party cookies. The proven digital and media expert will remain active in the industry in the future.
“In his three years as CEO, Sven Bornemann has developed the European netID Foundation into a leading single sign-on service and a market standard for the digital advertising industry in Germany. During this time, the Foundation was able to attract over 120 partners, most recently Deutsche Telekom and Axel Springer. I very much regret his decision and wish him all the best for his professional future and continued success,” says Karin Immenroth, Chairman of the Foundation Board of the European netID Foundation.
“After an extremely successful build-up at the European netID Foundation, I would now like to take on a new professional challenge. I would like to express my gratitude for the sincere and faithful cooperation with the numerous market partners who have already joined netID and the Foundation’s committees,” says Sven Bornemann.
The new CEO of the European netID Foundation will be Jörn Strehlau, currently Managing Director and Head of Xaxis at GroupM, beginning in 2022 at the latest. Until then, Achim Schlosser, CTO and member of the board, will be in charge of the foundation’s business on an interim basis.
“Sven Bornemann has prepared the Foundation very well for the future and clearly positioned netID as a market solution for the post-cookie era. I very much regret that he is leaving us and thank him for three exciting and successful years. At the same time, I look forward to working with Jörn Strehlau who, as a proven and well-connected data and programmatic expert, will continue Sven Bornemann’s work,” says Jan Oetjen, Deputy Chairman of the European netID Foundation Board.
“How digital marketing will work without cookies is currently one of the key topics in the industry. It is an extremely exciting task to shape the future of our industry with all the partners represented in the netID Foundation, to win new partners and to establish powerful solutions in the market. I am therefore very much looking forward to my new role,” says Jörn Strehlau.
